Brazilian model Deia Cavalheiro, now a fitness blogger, had claimed she’d had a so-called coregasm while she was performing a series of intense sit-ups with her trainer.
Deia had told her open-mouthed followers: “I was next to my personal trainer when this episode happened.
“I felt an orgasm while doing intense sit-ups and I was embarrassed. But he explained to me that this was normal and tried to reassure me.”

Deia, who has 52,500 Instagram followers, said: “I thought something was wrong with me.
“What I felt was a sensation of tingling or increasing sexual tension during the exercise. Culminating in a non-genital, but deeply satisfying orgasm.”
But now, Deia has told that her confession sparked a torrent of hate on social media, bizarrely mostly from insecure men.
She said: “They were afraid to know that not only men are capable of giving pleasure.”
But, says Deia, she was encouraged by messages from women who all said they had orgasmed in the gym too.
She said: “They were testimonies similar to mine about feeling shame and embarrassment.
“I realised that many did not talk to each other about it because it is a taboo, but I was happy that several women told me about this episode.”
The term coregasm was popularised when a scientific study at Indiana University, USA, quizzed women about sex and training.
Out of a sample group of 370 women aged between 18 and 63 more than a third said they had orgasmed in the gym.
And 60 per cent of the group said they had felt sexual pleasure during training.
Experts say the sudden sexual rush of a coregasm can be triggered by the extreme stimulation of the body’s core muscles around the groin and lower abs.
