An actress who lost designer bags worth more than GBP 50,000 in a burglary has turned to her social media followers to help track them down.
Brazilian star Mariana Rios told how thieves plundered her collection of bags by designers like Chanel, Prada and Louis Vuitton after breaking into her Sao Paulo home.
The crooks also took jewellery, designer shoes and cash in the 28th October raid she said.
The star regularly flaunts her collection of designer gear in her Instagram posts about her celebrity lifestyle.
But Mariana, 38, took to Instagram Stories to tell her 9.2 million followers: “Attention! My house in Sao Paulo was robbed yesterday afternoon.
“They entered at a time when there was no one in the house. Several things of value were stolen.”
She then asked for help from her followers, saying: “I ask everyone who works with websites and sales of luxury items to help me with some information if they happen to have access to specific and exclusive pieces from the brands: Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Prada.
“They took all my bags, suitcases, shoes, jewellery and money. Thank you very much in advance!”
Mariana continued: “It’s very bad to see images of people invading your home, stealing what you bought and achieved with your work, but I thank God that I wasn’t there and that I was spared a greater trauma.”
Mariana said she already contacted police and they “already have the images and are working to solve the case.”
The Sao Paulo Public Security Secretariat told local media: “The police authority analyses images from security cameras, listens to witnesses and takes steps to identify and arrest the perpetrators.”
