A famous Russian artist has revealed the price of fame which has meant she has to constantly refrain from sex to avoid bad publicity.
Singer Irina Saltykova told local media how being in the public eye often means putting her reputation above her desires, despite the difficulties that it entails.
The 57-year-old blonde said: “I am a public person, so I have such a ‘stop’.
“I can not afford what others are allowed just for the sake of ‘I want to’. So I keep holding myself back.”
Irina, who described herself as a rather private person, mainly uses her social media accounts such as Instagram, where she has over 163,000 followers to promote her music.
But recently, Irina apparently decided to let her fans in on more private thoughts by confiding that having a love life as a celebrity is hard.
In addition to her strong reservations, Irina confessed what also keeps her from being with someone is her long list of requirements.
She claimed she could get married the very next day if she wanted to, but wants to wait for her ideal partner instead.
Irina revealed she wants someone who has “more or less the same upbringing, education. The financial status also matters.”
She added: “For example, I’m used to flying business class, and if he’s economy class, how will we fly?
“One man was one level lower in upbringing and education, and the second, on the contrary, was higher. When it’s lower, it’s bad. It causes conflicts, annoys, and hinders.
“In my opinion, a man should surpass a woman in all her achievements.”
Speaking of her former partners, Irina said: “When you love, you don’t notice anything. The first definitely did not have any flaws, like the second, but the third chomped when he ate and needed some changing.
“I tried to wean him off doing it, and doctors treated him. Over time, he turned into a nice guy with wonderful virtues in the form of a great sense of humour, and the ability to adapt to any environment with any people.”
The first and only official spouse of Irina was singer Viktor Saltykov, whom she was married to for eight years before the couple got divorced.
In the 2000s, the woman was in a relationship with Pavel Bure, a famous hockey player who went on to play for several major US hockey teams.
And in 2010 Irina revealed another relationship with a businessman, whose name she preferred to keep secret.
After some time, the couple broke up.
