Mum Whose Arms Were Severed By Crazed Ex Tells Of Joy With New Baby And New Man

A woman whose hands were chopped off with an axe by her jealous former husband has told of her joy at giving birth to her fourth child and her life with her new partner.

Margarita Grachyova, 31, was left with horrific injuries after the brutal attack by her ex, Dmitry Grachyov, who tortured her before severing both her hands.

Medics were able to reattach one of her hands, but her other arm was too badly damaged and was replaced with a prosthetic.

Now, nearly seven years later, former TV presenter Margarita has announced the birth of her baby daughter with he new husband Maxim Andryushchenko.

New photos show Margarita smiling with her family in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and cuddling baby Ashira.

Margarita already has two children from her ex, Danila and Dimitry, and a third, Yaroslav, with Maxim.

She told local media: “On 18th May, Arisha was born. We were expecting either a son or a daughter – gender was not important.

“We found out the baby’s gender during the birth. We are incredibly happy to finally meet our baby!”

And despite being an experienced mum, Margarita explained: “You never know in advance how everything will go. It’s too unpredictable.

“This time, I gave birth in one of the best maternity hospitals in the country, so from the beginning, I was sure that everything would go great.

“Although I was still afraid and worried.”

Margarita says she named her daughter after a baby that often came to the nursery when she was working as a waitress.

She explained: “I have the warmest memories of that baby, I fell in love with her name.

“And when that tragedy happened to me, her mother wrote words of support and sent a photo of her daughter, who had grown noticeably.”

Margarita’s ex, Grachyov, is still behind bars after he was jailed for 14 years for the gruesome attack in 2017.

A court heard how, after she had asked him for a divorce, he tied her up and drove her to a forest before torturing her, hacking off both her hands and then taking her to hospital.

As part of his sentence, Grachyov was stripped of all his rights as a parent to the couple’s two children.

Two years after the attack, Margarita released a book about her survival called ‘Happy Without Hands’.
