Curvy Angelina Kirsch from the city of Neumuenster, Schleswig-Holstein State, Germany, shocked her Instagram fans after posting several videos with the entire left side of her face paralysed last Monday, 24th July.

The 35-year-old stunner who gained fame through Germany’s version of the American cooking-themed reality competition ‘The Taste’ said that blood tests revealed it was caused by herpes.

Kirsch said in an Instagram post on Friday: “[It’s] normal herpes actually.”

She added: “[It] simply means that my left facial nerve is irritated by a virus or bacteria and swollen enough to cause the symptoms.”

The gorgeous TV host revealed it all began when she woke up with a numb tongue, and a reduced vision last week, after which she immediately rushed to the hospital.

The model said: “[My] face doesn’t do anything else on the left side, but it doesn’t matter.”

Having suspected a stroke – the main cause for her condition named hemiplegia – doctors instantly carried out blood analysis, she claimed.

But after ruling out heart issues, she was finally diagnosed with a Bell’s palsy, as blood tests showed the presence of herpes.

Sources revealed that the disease could result when the virus rupture from the nerve axon, infects the Schwann sheath, and progresses centripetally.

Kirsch said she has been subjected to corticosteroids – aimed to minimise nerve damage and improve the outcome of patients suffering from the condition – ever since.

She said: “Now I’m even more confident that we can get this under control.”

In an Instagram video on Sunday (30th July), she said: “Today is day seven with my fascial paralysis.”

But she added: “I am positive about this. We’ll continue to be patient!”
