David Beckham played gully cricket rather than football with kids in India.
Images show the 48-year-old iconic football star and UNICEF ambassador, who this time took to the streets of Gujarat to play cricket with kids instead of football during a UNICEF outreach event this week.
The kids included both boys and girls, aligning with the International Cricket Council’s collaboration with UNICEF to empower women and girls and advocate for inclusion and gender equality using cricket as a platform.
Beckham, who became a UNICEF ambassador in 2005, is reportedly present in India as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for events and interactions with children since his arrival for a three-day trip on 13th November.
He is also scheduled to participate in Diwali celebrations and visit the Gujarat University Startup and the Entrepreneurship Council in Ahmedabad city, Gujarat.
It is also rumoured that he will attend the Cricket World Cup Championship – ODI World Cup 2023 semifinal at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, which will be played between India and New Zealand on 15th November according to local media.
India is the host and has dominated the Cricket World Cup Championship tournament this year, maintaining an impressive nine-game winning streak and accumulating a total of 18 points, securing the leading position in the league stage of the ODI World Cup 2023.
