Top Liverpool player Fabinho’s GBP 40 million move to Saudi Arabia side Al-Ittihad could be in jeopardy after it emerged that his pet French bulldogs may be banned under local laws.
The star Premier League midfielder has two of the dogs and his wife Rebeca Tavares often posts snaps of their beloved pooches online.
But an allegedly leaked Saudi document widely shared online appears to indicate that the top-flight player, who also plays for the Brazilian national team, might not be able to take the dogs with him as they are listed as “dangerous and aggressive”.
Fabinho, 29, who currently makes GBP 180,000 a week with Liverpool and who could make considerably more playing in the Kingdom, is reportedly understood to be considering walking away from the multimillion-pound move over the matter.
And Bayern Munich has reportedly expressed an interest in snapping up the player should the Saudi deal fall through.
The Brazilian midfielder has reportedly passed his medical examination, with the next step being to sign the contract with Al-Ittihad Saudi Club, which has already signed French player Karim Benzema from Real Madrid, his fellow countryman N’Golo Kante from Chelsea, and Portuguese player Joao Felipe Jota from Celtic FC.
