Football ace Neymar has been slammed by fans after he was spotted playing online poker during his daughter Mavie’s birthday party.
The 32-year-old Brazilian soccer icon and his former partner Bruna Biancardi held the celebration to mark six-month-old baby Mavie’s half-birthday.
In what supposed to be a heart-warming social media video the former couple put their differences behind them and sang happy birthday to their daughter.
But sharp-eyed fans noticed that instead of devoting all his attention to Mavie, Neymar could not take his eyes off an online poker app playing on his phone.
As family and friends clapped and cheeered Mavie her dad took his hand away from her to tap his phone, apparently making a bet.
Social media users on X, formerly Twitter, infuriated by the star’s behaviour.
One said in English: “This guy is absolutely finished. Man is playing poker in the middle of his daughter’s birthday.”
Another commented: “Neymar finishing up his little poker game in the middle of his daughter’s birthday hahaha.”
A third criticised: “Damn, man. Look at Neymar. This is unacceptable.”
Neymar, who now plays for Saudi side Al Hilal is one of the wealthiest players in the world after signing for EUR 90 million.
His wages alone are said to be worth more than EUR 3 million a week, six times what he earned at PSG.
