Brazilian model Deia Cavalheiro, now a fitness blogger, had been working out with her trainer next to her when she suddenly let it all go.

Deia Cavalheiro explained: “I was next to my personal trainer when this episode happened.

“I felt orgasm while doing intense sit-ups and I was embarrassed, but he explained to me that this was normal and tried to reassure me.”

Deia, who has 52,500 Instagram followers, said: “I thought something was wrong with me.

“What I felt was a sensation of tingling or increasing sexual tension during the exercise, culminating in a non-genital, but deeply satisfying orgasm.”

Experts call the sudden sexual rush a ‘coregasm’, triggered by the extreme stimulation of the body’s core muscles around the groin and lower abs.

Deia said: “I had to research a lot to understand this experience, because I had never seen anything like it.

“How come no one talks about this?”

She added: “It was a feeling of ecstasy, release of accumulated tension and an unusual connection between body and mind at the time of orgasm in the gym.”

And the model said other women should not feel embarrassed if it happens to them.

She explained: “It was difficult, but I recognised that coregasm is not negative or harmful.

“For those who experience it, it can be an opportunity to explore new facets of their sexuality and better understand the interconnection between body and mind.”

But Deia says she’s now worked out how to head off the experience when the gym is full.

She said: “I’ve never felt anything like it again, but if you experience this, one tip I’d give is to slightly change the position of the exercise you’re doing.”
