Malaysian actress and singer Elizabeth Tan went on a holiday trip to Italy to celebrate her 30th birthday during the last weekend (18th and 19th November).

Elizabeth told her nearly two million Instagram followers about the tourist attractions she visited, as she posted snaps posing by the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the remarkable David of Michelangelo.

She captioned the photos: “Leaning tower of Pisa and statue of David! It’s crossed off my bucket list hehee.

“Also, Florence was absolutely my favourite city.”

However, netizens were quick to criticize the singer’s post in the country where Islamic legislation makes nudity illegal and where it needs to be covered before being made public.

And many online commentators lined up to say the naked statue was offensive.

User ‘milafarisah’ said: “Ouch.. you can see an elephant’s tusk.”

While ‘aqlaepul’ wrote: “What’s wrong with you, sis? Hey, I’m the one who’s shy.”

However, some netizens defended the singer such as ‘ronny_rizal_318’ who said: “Art is beautiful..anyone can share their opinion and respect different opinions.

“Art is art, the world is full of paradigms.”

And Elizabeth responded by saying: “This is art.”

Elizabeth also posted a carousel post on her birthday, 18th November, where she enjoyed a boat ride on the canals in the city of Venice dressed in a beautiful long red dress.
