A jilted ex used the cute pet dog he shared custody of with a Brazilian model as bait to kill her.
Model Aline Faria was killed with a gunshot to the head in Guarulhos, Sao Paulo State, on 24th May.
After allegedly firing the fatal shot, her ex-boyfriend, Wesley, allegedly turned the gun on himself.
The two had been a couple but had been separated for two months. They had joint custody of their pet dog, Marley.
The police believe Wesley – surname withheld – used Marley as bait to lure Aline, 23, to her death.
According to the police, he had called his ex to ask her to come to his flat to collect the pooch.
Marley was normally picked up by Aline’s mother, as her family tried to avoid any contact between the former couple due to Wesley’s alleged aggressive behaviour.
Aline had gone to Wesley’s flat with a friend, but he had barred the friend from coming into the apartment.
When they were together in the flat, Wesley had the volume of his sound system turned up high, suggesting to the police that the alleged crime was premeditated.
After arriving at the address, the police had to break down the door. They found the model on a bed inside a room with a bullet from a .38 calibre revolver in her head.
Next to her, they found Wesley, 26, dead with gunshot wounds to the chest.
As well as her work as a model, Aline was also an influencer and did promotional work for stores.
At the time of writing, she had 34,600 followers on Instagram.
The police are investigating the case as femicide followed by suicide.
