Man United star David de Gea is set to tie the knot with his long-term partner this summer.
Spanish media are reporting that goalie De Gea, 32, and singer-actress Edurne will get hitched on the paradise island of Menorca this summer.
According to reports, their ceremony will be held at the popular S’Hostal Quarries beauty spot.
The seven-hectare site was where local “mares” sandstone was cut, largely manually, from the 19th century until 1994.
De Gea and Edurne, 37, have been an item for 12 years. Despite this, getting wed “was not in their plans”, according to the former talent show contestant.
The couple had their first child, a daughter named Yanay, on 4th March 2021.
Edurne said in an interview last year: “There is no greater commitment than having a child, I think that’s more binding than a wedding because it unites you for life.”
Prior to Yanay’s birth, the couple had kept their relationship alive and kicking despite De Gea spending most of his time in Manchester and Edurne in Madrid.
The singer-actress said in January: “We have been together for 12 years now, and we are happier than ever.”
In addition to over 400 appearances for Manchester United, De Gea has been capped 45 times by the Spain national team.
He also made more than 50 appearances for his former club, Atletico Madrid.
Outside football, he is a fan of heavy metal music and founded an eSports team called “Rebels Gaming” in 2021.
