Leandrinha Du Art, from Passos, in south-eastern Brazil‘s Minas Gerais state, promoted a special sale on subscriptions to her page to boost visits.

Leandrinha shared the promotion with her 450,000 Instagram followers and promised they would receive a discount.

The subscription initially costs BRL 12.90 (GBP 2.09) per month and offers exclusive content, behind-the-scenes, shout-outs, and more.

The creator is apparently hoping to raise awareness about disabled people’s sexual needs.

Leandrinha was born with Larsen Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects the development of the child’s bones while still in the womb. People who suffer from the condition are commonly born with dislocations in the feet, knees, hips or elbows.

She told local media: “Some people use wheelchairs; others do not. I chose not to have any more surgeries [to improve my joints and spine]. Walking was no longer my priority.”

Although she portrays as a humorous and carefree person on social media, Leandrinha confessed she was not always that way.

She said: “Throughout my teenage years, I tried to hide. I didn’t even like looking at myself in the mirror.”

The decision to stop having surgeries arose around the age of 17 when Leandrinha also broke away from her religion, as the church she attended believed that being a transgender woman was wrong.

She said: “Freeing myself from the moral constraints of the church was easier for me because I was already content with my bodily process and my sexuality.”

Due to her physical condition, Leandrinha had a difficult relationship with her body and tried her best to hide during her adolescence.

She wore loose clothing and did everything possible not to attract attention.

She even felt ashamed of her own voice.

She continued: “We live in a structure that, in addition to taking away our autonomy, states that bodies with disabilities have no desire or the power to be desired.

“In my family I always had independence, but they never talked about sexuality with me.

“They thought that, because I had a disability, my body could not be sexual.

“I wanted to talk about it and end that stigma.”

Things changed during high school when the most handsome boy in school approached her saying he wanted to kiss her.

Leandrinha admitted to thinking: “How could the most handsome boy in school look at the girl who didn’t even look at herself in the mirror?”

It was at that moment Leandrinha said she realised that insecurity was preventing her from being who she wanted to be.

She added: “I tossed my insecurity aside and said, ‘Then kiss me.’ He lifted me out of my wheelchair, placed me on the bathroom sink, and we kissed.

“If he saw beauty in me, why couldn’t I?”
