A lifestyle influencer who boasted about how perfect life was and shared snaps of herself with designer clothing and expensive cars has been arrested for murder shortly after announcing that she was pregnant.

The 23-year-old Nayeli Diaz shared a photo of an ultrasound scan which showed her unborn baby and revealed how happy she was in a posting on 6th September.

But only a few days later, the influencer was arrested and accused of shooting dead a man in a row at a bar in the Ignacio Zaragoza neighbourhood of Venustiano Carranza, Mexico City, on 9th September.

Her arrest followed a call to police to say there had been a gunfight at the bar, and when they arrived, police found a grey vehicle with four bullet holes and an injured man inside.

By the time paramedics arrived, they could only confirm the death of the man.

Eyewitnesses told police that a woman who instigated the argument and fired the shots fled in a white vehicle.

The woman was later identified as Nayeli.

She was tracked down and arrested together with a 25-year-old man, who was also found with a bag of cocaine and nine bags of marijuana.

They are currently in custody under the supervision of public ministry agents and the story was picked up by local media when she was identified as the woman arrested.

Eagle-eyed followers further noted that a year earlier, she talked about visiting her boyfriend at Southern Mexico Prison in Xochimilco City, Mexico City, Mexico, in December 2021, posting a video with the caption “When you are going to spend Christmas with your boyfriend.”

The video also captured the chocolate cakes and other food containers she was taking for the visit.

The second video featured Nayeli posing with a white BMW, accompanied by the caption “I’m achieving it at 22 years old.”
