The bodybuilding ex of soccer star Ronaldo has had a so-called ‘beauty chip’ implant to help her balance her hormones after a ban on steroids.
Stunning Michele Umez – mother of Ronaldo Nazario’s 18-year-old son Alexander – has had to give up anabolic steroids after they were outlawed for aesthetic use by officials.
Michele, 41 decided on the procedure after Brazil’s Federal Council of Medicine (CFM) vetoed the medical prescription of hormonal boosters for bodybuilders.
The bodybuilding star said – she had to find a way to balance her hormones.
So Michele turned to having a progesterone implant – known as a beauty chip.
The rice grain-sized implant is inserted under the skin to deliver metred doses of bioidentical hormones.
She told Brazilian media: “Since anabolic steroids are prohibited, I, aged 41 and in pre-menopause, decided to have the beauty chip implanted.
“Today it is the only way to balance that hormonal part and also to keep myself prepared for my bodybuilding competitions.
“Dr Juliana Risso is doing a complete job in this part of longevity and integrative medicine.”
Michele says she intends to get ready for future competitions.
She said: “My mission is to raise the self-esteem of normal women like me, showing that it is possible to overcome yourself at forty, to be professional, sensual, a mother and an athlete.”
The bodybuilder is widely known in her native Brazil for being the mother of Ronaldo Nazario’s son Alexander.
The two reportedly met in 2002 when she was living in Japan and working as a nanny, waitress, and model.
Ronaldo was in the country competing in the World Cup with the Brazil national football team at the time.
They started a relationship two years later and Michele became pregnant with Ronaldo’s child during another of the striker’s visits to the East Asian country.
Michele returned to Brazil in 2009 to take a DNA test. She later revealed that Ronaldo was supportive and acknowledged Alexander as his son.
The athlete has been quite open about the many procedures she has had to keep up with her muscly figure and how her body changed after the pregnancy.
Michele said: “After I became a bodybuilding athlete and also after breastfeeding, my breasts got smaller.
“I’ve always liked big breasts, but at the time I didn’t have much skin to be able to put on bigger implants.
“But I still want to do some adjustments, diastasis surgery and mini tummy tuck because of the pregnancy skin.”
Despite the procedures, Michele said she was not afraid of ageing.
She revealed: “I want to grow old with white hair, but with a well-groomed face.
“I think women with grey hair and well-groomed skin and body are chic.
“I see myself on the right path. I’m not afraid of ageing but I want to age well, train, compete, eat right and take care of myself.
“I want to age well with high self-esteem, living the best of life, with the best people.
“I used to think I was very ugly, but today I feel good with my outfit, because beauty ends, we all get old one day, but I felt better than when I was in my 20s.”
Michele is widely known in her native Brazil for being the ex of Ronaldo Nazario and the mother of one of his four children, Alexander.
The baby had been born in April 2005 after the football star and Michele – who was a waitress when Ronaldo first met her in Tokyo in 2002 -had a brief relationship.
