A beauty queen shamed for bullying her school classmates has apologised as pageant organisers launched an investigation into the claims.
Luwne Xin Hui, 23, was called out for making former pupils’ lives a misery just hours after winning the ATV Miss Asia Pageant Malaysia.
Some said she had bullied up to 80 victims, and one talked of her mocking a fellow pupil’s looks by calling her the ‘Egyptian Pharaoh’.
Now Hui, from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has apologised on Instagram to her 82,000 followers.
She said: “At that time, I was still exploring and growing. I had experienced the feeling of helplessness and the desire to be understood.
“It is my deepest regret that I did not treat my friends well in the past.”
She added: “I will double my efforts to improve, and I am willing to help promote anti-bullying-related activities.
“I feel guilty and I hope to be forgiven, and I hope to prove to you that I am no longer the ignorant and rebellious person I was before.”
The wave of accusations came just a day after she beat 14 other contestants to become of ATV Miss Asia Pageant Malaysia 2023 on 24th September.

Executive Director Leong Wei Ping said: “We will strictly review the circumstances involving the accusations to ensure that the investigation process is fair and impartial.
“We will listen to the voices of relevant parties and do our best to ensure that justice is done.”
