A polyamorous couple have taken their open relationship to a new level after holding a bizarre wedding ceremony for a realistic sex doll that they now call their “second wife”.
Influencers Bella Mantovani, 33, and Vagner Macedo, 37, who are based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, shared photos of the ceremony on social media on 17th March.
The couple, who are known online for documenting their polyamorous lifestyle, said the ceremony took place approximately three months ago and that the doll, named Kathleen, is now treated as a second wife within their relationship.
Bella said the idea began as a conversation between the pair about fetishes and different ways of exploring polyamory.
She said: “At first it felt like something merely curious, almost like a joke between us.
“But we gradually decided to take the idea further and organised a symbolic ceremony to mark Kathleen’s entry into the relationship.”
Vagner said the couple’s intention was to approach the situation naturally.
He said: “For many people it may seem unusual, but for us it reflects the freedom we have always embraced in our relationship.”
Bella added that Kathleen has since become part of their daily routine.
She explained: “Sometimes we place her at the table during lunch or on the sofa while we watch television. She naturally became part of our routine.”
According to Vagner, the experience reinforces their view of polyamory.
He said: “We have always defined polyamory as being about honesty and freedom. In our case, even a doll has become part of that story.”
Bella said sharing the photos was also intended to spark discussion on social media about different relationship models.
She added: “Many people believe there is only one correct way to live a relationship. Our story shows that each couple finds its own way to relate.”
